Overview
A light color dyed with a single piece of silk with a single safflower flower
Story

The color of the pigment extracted from the safflower is called beni-iro.

Safflower was very expensive, and the red dye became more expensive as they tried to dye it darker.

For this reason, dark colors dyed with safflower dye were prohibited, and ordinary people were prohibited from using them on their clothes.

The pink color of this one-pot dyeing is the limit of colors that were not prohibited as forgiveness colors.

Ippiki dyeing is a light pink color that is obtained by dyeing one piece of silk (ippiki) with one safflower flower (ikkin = about 600g).

Even so, it is said that there was no end to those who tried to dye it as dark as possible.

Ipponzome is a color name that has existed since the Heian period.
