Story
Camels may seem like animals that are far from Japan, but in fact, there are records of them coming to Japan before the Nara period.
According to records, a camels were paid tribute from the country of Baekje in the 7th year of Suiko (599), and it seems that they have come to Japan several times since then.
However, it is said that camels became generally known around the Edo period, and it was not until the Showa period that they became color names.
The camels are called camel in English.
